A McLean County, Kentucky, Paleo Culture point, a Beaver Lake, made of Indiana Hornstone,2&3/8" by 1", 1/4" thick along the body except for that one low 'stack' where thickness increases to 5/16". The Paleo knapper tried his best to get rid of the stack, he 'nibbled into it' from below and from the left, you can see the flake scars where he tried thinning the blade--he even narrowed the blade on the left to get the stack to pop free. No luck. Give him points for trying, though. The piece, 100% guaranteed authentic, has been in my collection the last half-dozen years, courtesy of the Dr. Skaggs auctions. Basal- lateral edge grinding is good, very good. Shipping comes with the price, you can buy the piece with a check or a money order, but paypal-type services are NOT used--Roy A.
