First look you think the one barb is broken, but a slightly closer look and you see a 'stack' in the Sonora Flint--the Pinetree Culture knapper couldn't fashion a barb on a thicker spot, a stack in the flint--one additional chip removed and the whole corner would have shattered. The close up photo should show the work--and the way he worked around a flaw in the flint. The Pinetree ended up on a Warrick County, Indiana, site, it's been stored-away for decades--measures slightly under 1&7/8" by 1&5/16" with a thin blade, 1/4" max thickness, and most of the blade much thinner than that. Basal grinding is HEAVY--that's why I'd 'type' the piece as a Pinetree instead of a Stilwell; the main face you see parallel transverse flaking coming in to the medial ridge. On the short stem is a much heavier thinning flake, practically a flute--blade edges show some fine serration, NICE point, lifetime guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
