A Bond/ Montgomery County, Illinois area collection, old provenance written on the blade, but so faded from handling making it out is, well, you try, maybe you'll be the one to figure what the finder meant. Length of the Mid-to-Late Archaic stemmed point is 3&9/16" by 1&1/8"--a strong 7/16" thick medial ridge gave the hafted knife considerable strength, but that didn't help the slight damage to the tip (the chip is more modern, farm damage, apparently). There is almost no stem edge grinding, so if the point is a Stone Square Stem or a Kramer, that'd fit--those two cultures made similar stemmed points but didn't use basal grinding. Flint is in the Avon--Payson Flint type--both come out of western Illinois, and I think you could make a case for this being either one of those good quality flints. Patination is there, mineral specks, particularly on the stem--the piece is guaranteed real. Shipping is $8.00, checks, cash, or M.O>s taken. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
