Indiana Hornstone Buck Creek, 2&1/4" by slightly over 1&1/2"--'thinness' is barely over 1/4"--if you want the translation of that set of measures: one FINE piece of flint. The Ohio River beach find comes from the Spencer/ Perry County, Indiana, river's edge--with barbs this fragile it wouldn't have survived intact (in a woods/ field), most likely. Was there ever a stem, or was the blade made as a 'snap base form'--my thought is there never was a stem as at least one of the barbs would have snapped with as much force as was necessary to break a 1/4" thick stem. Simply put--I think it was Woodland Culture made this way. The piece was in an old shoebox for the last fifty+ years, passed from father-to-son. It's 100% guaranteed real. Shipping is $8.00, checks (I always accept cash) or money orders, but this store does not use paypal-type payments--Roy A.
