I've owned this Dubois County, Indiana, point for years, but never really stopped to consider just "what to call it"--it was 100% real, the hornstone was super patinated...and it was a creek find. Those characteristics were enough to add it to my collection. A closer look, the super heavy basal & stem grinding suddenly said "Knobbed Hardin"--really, really worn, sure, but a Knobbed Hardin, regardless. Length is 3&3/8" by 1&1/16", the medial ridge only 5/16" thick. Before repeated Early Archaic sharpening it would be no surprise if the blade once measured 2" across--and another 1.5" of length. This one was some ancient hunters' favorite knife, used until the sharpened blade edges were so close to the medial ridge that getting a sharp knife blade was hardly possible. I like used flint tools in my collection, they tell you a lot about the user--neat piece, 100% real. Shipping is $8.00, checks or M.O.s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
