One of the best 'Ridge Back" Paleo work tools I've had in-hand lately--a Southwest Indiana find made from a hornstone/ cortex flint, 3&3/4" by 1" with that semi-curved shape, scraper tip to deliberately flat 'heel'. On what I'll call the 'spatulate end' you'll find Paleo use polish on either side of the "V" shape. What I'll describe as 'heavy polish' also is found on the flat side of the narrow end--see the photos, the flint has a gloss from extensive use/ wear. As found on many Paleo ridgeback tools the 'ridge' is a deliberately flat--almost 'fluted' channel--hopefully the photos will show some of those features. The only damage is a small surface flake in the center of the inside edge, you can contrast the patination of a chip versus the surrounding heavy patina---sometimes a chip, a ding, it shows you the authenticity better than any description I can provide.
