The shipping is part of the price on this Henderson or Union County, Kentucky, Hopewell "Core"--made of Indiana Harrison County-type Hornstone, 3&3/16" by 2&1/2"--the center 'peak' is 1&1/8". How many bladelets were removed to get the core to this stage is anyone's guess--you can count the long, thin scars across the face, but how many were struck-off before those--who knows? If the Hopewell needed a very sharp, thin micro knife, these thin bladelets were a primary cutting tool--their edges as literally like steel knife edges--sharp. Now, did the core serve a secondary scraping purpose--that's what I'm thinking. Let me assure you the outer edge is still sharp, though, even inside a few of the flake scars where there are tiny pressure chippings (in a row, so they're deliberate). The finder hunted Hopewell sites along the Ohio River, the tools he found, almost all Woodland Culture, are patinated, authentic.
