Out of S.W. Indiana, Spencer County--Indiana Hornstone,2&3/4" by 1&1/4"--3/8" blade thickness. Whether you term these Dovetails or "Archaic Bevels" is a matter of choice--they're slightly transitional pieces from the later part of the Early Archaic Period--instead of the usual 7500BP they may be a few hundred years "newer". What they're known for is the extreme bevel sharpening--left edge, naturally that culminates in an almost "twisted" tip--this piece has a slight edge fracture on that tip--not excessive, but it is a flat flake on the very edge. One other feature I've noticed on "Archaic Bevels" is that basal grinding is there--but lighter than 'regular Doves'--patina is there, every detail is guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $9.00 with payments welcomed by check or M.O.. Please note I do not use paypal-type services, though--Roy A.
