After the Paleo lance broke, it became a multi-purpose tool: scraper (on the end)--shaft scraper (on the basal corner--both corners, actually, a 'rasp' on the rougher-chipped corner, a finishing-scraper on the small indention on the far corner. On the broken end you'll find heavy work polish, the edge really worn smooth. Made of Indiana Holland Flint from Spencer County area, length is 1&11/16" by 1&1/2"--slightly over 1/4" max thickness. The (relatively) huge flutes to either face are impressive, you know the original length of the Clovis was well over 4"--for a chert/ flint that's noted for multiple fracture planes, getting a lance point that long was unusual. The piece was found here in the S.W. corner of Indiana, but after thirty or so years, remembering just where would be a guess--likely Spencer or Warrick County--best I can do. Shipping is $9.00, checks or M.O.s are how I receive payments. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
