Found along the Ohio River, Illinois side of the stream, Massac County, Illinois--a decent Harpeth River point, 2&1/2" by 1&1/16", and only 1/4" thickness. Harpeth Rivers, with their four-sided-sharpening can have a thicker body, but this point shows very good thinning of the blade--a very skilled Early Archaic Culture knapper, I think. The basal edge shows minor edge dulling--whether that was from wear or actual grinding is a coin flip--the edge work, though, study it in the close up photo, the pressure chipping is excellent. The finder wrote where he found the piece on one face, so that provenance is part of the blade--guaranteed authentic in every detail. Shipping is $8.00, checks or M.O>s are the ways the piece can be purchased. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
