Indiana Harrison County Hornstone Late Archaic Culture Turkey Tail from the collection of a now deceased teacher in my area--length is an excellent 3&11/16" by just under 1&1/2"--center thickness is right at 3/8" max, so read that as 'balanced'--an excellent knapper some 2500--3000 years past made the big knife. The tip shows where the knife was left too close to a cookfire, a 'characteristic' pop out on the very tip--only heat does that, hornstone (with its high silicate level) does not respond well to sudden heat--the flint explodes. You see such pop outs on dart points at times, you know they were cooked IN the rabbit, flint scraps probably resulted in a number of dental problems ancient peoples suffered.. So, a Vanderburgh County, Indiana, find, well patinated, guaranteed authentic in every detail. Shipping is $8.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
