Found in a Spencer County, Indiana, area creek, made from Hornstone, and showing the four-sided-bevel sharpening technique the Harpeth River (and Searcy) peoples used for their Early-to-Mid Archaic points. Length is 2&3/4" by almost 1&1/16"--thickness is a classic 3/8" as these are almost NEVER thin point types because of the quadra-facial sharpening technique. Too, the blade edges are somewhat serrated--as they should be. The stem edges are well ground which is another Early Archaic finish-out trait. The price is reasonable due to the 'final use' where the tip impacted some hard surface, shows some wear--or maybe the ancient hunter "field sharpened" it to get a point on his knife--regardless, it shows the effort the hunter went to.
