Out of either Christian or Muhlenburg County, Kentucky, probably Christian, but the field hunter also walked the second county's sites--you have the area. He sold the point to a friend of mine who had only a couple pieces of the collection he wanted--I bought the rest--this Pinetree Drill has been mine, in my "best case" since...easy to see why. How the one barb was broken, well, it came to me this way--was a case lid dropped on it, was it underneath another point and when the lid was lowered--regardless, it's glued-back, too much glue was used and it mushroomed-out of the crack line--no denying it, it is-what-it is. I think one person will rule the flint to be Hornstone, the next will say "Sonora"--length is exactly 2&1/2" by 1&5/16"--1/4" max thickness. Basal grinding is VERY heavy. Note that in the crevices of the flint you'll find iron deposits, the iron-rich "Limestone Country" soil of Kentucky--perhaps it doesn't hurt to say every detail is guaranteed authentic. I'll pay the shipping cost. I welcome checks, I welcome money orders, but I do not use paypal-type services-Roy A.
