Slightly over 5&3/8" by 1&9/16", 1/2" centerline thickness, and flint that's either Muldrough Chert of the Illinois equivalent--Elco Chert. Found along the Wabash River/ White River basin of S.W. Indiana, the chert could be either of those 'cousin' cherts. Being one of the big Mid Archaic (6500BP) knives made by what we call "Benton Peoples"; this stemmed knife has so little stem-edge dulling that it's negligible--you don't find but a very few Benton artifacts that show any stem grinding--occasionally their "Bottle Neck" varieties will show a bit of grinding, that's about all. A few years back the big knife came from the collection of an accomplished local creek hunter--when he offers a piece of flint I know it's real--and this knife is 100% guaranteed authentic. I pay the shipping, no additional costs. I welcome checks or M.O.s but do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
