A S.W. corner of Indiana creek find, one I put in a frame last year with a "What is it?" note. Length is 3&1/4", not quite to 1&1/8" width, and a thick body due to the rough Indiana Holland Flint that reaches 7/16" max thickness due to a strong 'stack' in the flint. The base, though, is interesting, auriculate and strongly ground--the pressure chipped blade edges also testify to the piece being Early Archaic Culture. The closest I've come is that the piece is some variation on a Heavy Duty Point. I acquired the piece with a small modern chip on the very tip--price reflects the damage, but it also wouldn't be the first point found n a creek where a deer stepped on the piece. Creeks are like interstate highways for deer, the foot traffic can churn up the gravel beds as deer start moving in the fall. Neat piece, guaranteed authentic. $8.00 shipping as the USPS keep finding reasons to increase postage. I welcome checks, cash, or M.O.s, but do not use paypal--Roy A.
