The three-frame-collection came from the area where three rivers come together: Missouri, Mississippi and Illinois Rivers--that's about as much provenance as I could gather from the auction house--and that's about typical, but at least you have the area, you know they're associated with the Late Archaic-into-Woodland Cultures that lives along those river 'junctions'. Two are Burlington Chert, longer of those, similar to a Buck Creek, is 1&9/16"--the cornernotch is 1&3/8". The heat treated flint stemmed is 'sliding' towards the Snyders Points, one of the Hopewell variants, 1&9/16"--it MAY be Burlington, but was the chert ever over heated for the iron oxides to flash that bright of a red/ orange--the hotter the fire the brighter red the iron particles...and the better the flint knapped, which was the purpose of the heat treating in the first place. These three are guaranteed authentic, period. Shipping is $9.00 with payment welcomed by check or M.O.-sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
