So, being 'somewhat hearing impaired', attending the Dr Skaggs auction a half-dozen years back I saw this finely restored Benton/ Elk River point offered (described) as being "tip restored", but I could live with that, nice work by the Mid Archaic Benton Culture knapper to fashion the transverse-parallel flake scars, some excellent professional restoration on the missing tip--A few Bentons were found on the first sites I ever got to hunt, so I was happy to bid my $20.00...only problem was there was a one in front of that $20---yeah, $120. I won't be attending any more live auctions without my hearing aids, lol. Okay--Spencer County, Indiana, Muldrough Chert, 4&3/8" by 1&3/16" with a 3/8" max center thickness--I'm not sure if the restoration was Bushey or Etchison, but I'm betting one of those two artists restored, color matched the top 1&5/8" of the piece--an artist MATCHES the color, a simple 'restorer' only colors it in. There's a difference. Shipping is $9.00, checks or money orders are the payment forms I use--sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
