82105--Riverbank find (Ohio River), neat piece
Shipping comes with the price on a piece (Indiana Hornstone) that just has a 'neat look'. Was it a drill, a gouge (perforator), or some use (fishing???) that goes back to the Woodland Peoples (Adena and later the Hopewell) who lived along the same riverbanks--whatever it's specific purpose its length is slightly over 3&1/4" by 11/16"--a 1/4" thick tip and a "hump'(stack) on the heel where thickness reaches 9/16". The finder walked Spencer County, Indiana, river's edge sites, likely a few in Perry County as well--I walked many of the same sites in years past, I can guarantee the patina of this piece is exactly what should be there--it's real. The basal corner shows the limestone 'cherty cortex' of Hoosier Hornstone. Payment: I welcome checks (or cash) and/ or money orders however I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
