82551--Indiana Snyders, color like pet. wood
The shipping cost is part of the price on this Posey County, Indiana, Snyders--the color is almost like a petrified wood, I don't know a better descriptive, several shades of reddish-brown bandings and grey at the tip--2&1/8" by 1&3/16". There is no basal grinding, but there is dulling of the edges in the hafting areas--the dulling could be deliberate, or simply the result of the point moving in it's bindings--friction dulled the edges--to take my guess, I'd go with deliberate dulling, it just feels slightly too heavy for friction. On the tip you can see the slight trace of an ancient impact fracture that wasn't quite erased by salvage, so the point/ knife did start somewhat larger--patinated, though, and 100% real.
