From an old family collection, found in either Spencer or Perry County, S.W. Indiana--being Derby Chert (Perry County is the source of the flint) it's possible the grandfather or great-grandfather of the last owner found the Broadbase in Perry County, the widow of the owner reported the family had lived in that county at one time. As is very common, the family didn't keep those sorts of concise records--the last of the family line now passed, I got the last known Spencer County, Indiana, town they lived in--that'll have to do. The Big Sandy is a very early form of these side notched points, 2&7/16" by 1&1/4". The thinness being at barely over 1/4", the high grade Derby Chert is somewhat translucent when back-lit. The auriculate base is heavily edge ground. Why is the point titled as "close to a G-10"? One barn end was likely more pointed, it's very slightly use-rounded--that's the sum of the damage report. Some people want 100% perfect to slap on a "G-10" rating, so this point, lifetime guaranteed authentic in every detail, is as close as I have seen in quite a while. I'll provide the name of the "last of the line" family so you have the provenance I do--it matters. I'll pay the shipping cost, and in payment I welcome checks or money orders. On my store you can't buy with a paypal-type service--Roy A.
