Whether you use a generic "Burlington Chert" or the Crescent Quarry Chert that higher grade Burlington has attached, either one works--off-white chert, but with color banding, light greys, and a much higher silicate level than most Burlington--more gloss equals better knapping, finer pressure chipping than percussion flaking. Length of the Monroe County, Illinois (the listed provenance I received) Waubesa style point is 3&5/16" by a wide 1&11/16"--far wider than usual as the barb ends are fully intact even though the blade was obviously sharpened repeatedly (the incurvate edge-form shows that). A caliper reading of very slightly over 1/2" max thickness (center of the hafting area) indicates the blade was made in a far larger size (as a hafted knife). The skill shows, the patina shows, every detail is guaranteed authentic. Shipping s $8.00 with checks or M.O.s how I welcome payments. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
