Provenance was written as Moultrie County, Illinois--writing I'm almost 100% sure is ex Bill Pesch Collection of Mattoon, Illinois, the point having traded around some since Mr. Pesch's estate sale a couple years back. Note a catalog number may be for some collection before Bill's collection--usually Bill used a four digit I.D., so the point may go back to some very early collection--wish I had that info, but that's lost to time. This very large Waubesa, Burlington Chert, measures an excellent 3&7/8" by 1&11/16", but only 5/16" max thickness. The tip has very slight wear, used in Woodland Period as a large hafted knife (and gouge). The stem has a slight notch to better fit it on a handle, and then the stem sides were ground smooth so the sinew wasn't abraded. The patina is simply no brainer it's so heavy, every detail guaranteed authentic. Shipping comes with the price, checks or M.O.s are how I welcome-in payments. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
