Shipping is part of the price on this Union or Jackson County, Illinois, Mississippian Era "garden tool"--I've seen many, many regular oval-shaped Spades from the 1250--1400BP era, some few notched Hoes, but a triangular Hoe is a new shape (for me, anyway). I've owned the ex R. Brewer Collection three or four years, it has absolute authenticity, but that shape, how'd they attach it to a handle??? Was the point 'down', or was that the 'heel'? See the photo as it's held in-hand as that's kind of hard to put in words--maybe, you'll see the piece as more of a 'pickax', something to break open hard soil. If so, I can see it. Every ancient tool, it had more ways (than one) of being used. Length is 4&3/4" by 4&1/16" as the widest measure. At the top of the triangle thickness max-out is 11/16"--on the tapered 'bit' 1/2" thickness. Ancient use shows dings and old use-made chips--just a part of the patina. That's as it should be. I welcome checks or M.O., but do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
