The finder placed a sticker listing the provenance as Wabash County, Illinois--along the Lower Wabash River, I'll add. Whether you want to call it a Big Sandy of a Graham Cave, that's your choice--both are Early Archaic Culture, with a slight 'downturn' of the corners of the side notch being the only difference--both can be auriculate on the basal edge--which is heavily ground. This side notch measures 2&9/16" by 1&1/8", slightly over 5/16" thickness max in the center of the blade. The flint, as close as I've been able to 'type it' is Indiana Holland Flint/ Chalcedony--free of fracture planes which plagues most Holland Flint points. One tiny chip at the end of one barb has a bit of wear--that's the only damage. Patination is great, every detail is real. Shipping is $8.00 with checks or M.O.s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
