Up for sale is a nice specimen of a Harpeth River type projectile This was recovered from Alabama and is out of the Ex Marvin King collection. The Harpeth River type is a transitional type associated with the late Paleo to Early Archaic era. This artifact measures in at 3 1/8" long x 1" wide. There is an ancient impact fracture on the upper most third side of one blade edge as can be seen in the photos. That being said this artifact still displays very nicely, but is affordable due to this ancient damage. There are noticeable deposits of mineralization and patina throughout , so rest assured of its authenticity.
