A Lexington, Kentucky, area Paleo Uniface "Ridgeback" scraper/ knife made from the type hornstone found in that area3&5/16" by 1&1/8", 7/16" max thickness. One blade edge is higher grade flint, the opposite side is the limestone 'cherty' cortex--dulled to protect the Paleo hunters' palm--one end was flattened to avoid abrasion to the index finger tip, too. Paleo knappers, they made their tools both multi-function, and planned (adapted) for hours of long usage. Skinning a "Woolly Mammoth" wasn't a two hour job, lol. The piece came to me several years back from G. Noel--that alone should tell you it's real. He knows flint. Shipping is $7.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
