Five exceptional dart points, every one being an Early archaic point type, from Posey County, Indiana--pieces I'd had stored "for a rainy day"--today is it. There is a Pinetree, a Bifurcate and three forms of Big Sandy--each shows basal grinding, although the bifurcate seems lighter on the grinding until you get to the sides of the stem--excellent grinding on both outer stem sides. Four are Indiana hornstone, slight variations in color--the fifth is a off-white flint--maybe Burlington, but I'm thinking it's some other white flint--SUPER heavy basal edge grinding on that point. The longest two measure 1&5/8", 1&1/2" on the white side notch, 1&3/16" on the smaller side notch. If that smaller point had more identifiable blade I might place it in the Warrick Point class due to the heavy basal edge grinding & the base form--too worked down to be sure, but not many point types went that heavy on their basal edge grinding. ALL are guaranteed real, period. I welcome checks or M.O.s, but do not use paypal--Roy A.
