Call it a Motley or a Buck Creek--or a Kampsville, the piece is from where the Illinois River meets the Mississippi River--Kaolin Flint. 1&7/8" by 1&7/16"---the width/ length being so close it'd indicate the blade started much, much longer. Some of the flaking is done on angle--Oblique knapping, a very skilled knapper to send those flake scars all the way to the center of the blade (and past what'd be the medial ridge IF the centerline was 'ridged'). Very good flint, Illinois Kaolin Flint, very good gloss and patina. As you'd expect, there is no basal edge grinding.
