82111--Kentucky Kirk Stemmed Bifurcate--creek
Out of Hopkins (or area county) Kentucky creeks, this hornstone Bifurcate is one I'd term a Kirk Stemmed Bifurcated type--if you use one of the something like fourteen other names for bifurcates, that's fine--whose collection it's in gets to classify it--your turn next. Authenticity will NEVER be in doubt, every chip is real, patinated. I wish the point had been found with the needle tip intact, but unfortunately the tip ends in a tiny flat spot. The bifurcated stem shows excellent grinding, the very in-curvate 'wings' the point went through multiple blade sharpening/ serration--seen as a 'stage one' we might not recognize the piece as the bifurcate it became--length is 1&7/16" by 1&1/16"--1/4" max thickness.
