Every auction has something that gives you a "That'll go well in my collection" and another that, well...just doesn't "feel right". The patina may be there, but something about the piece just raises the hackles, your brain says there's something "wrong". This big Late Archaic point sits on my computer stand to remind my--as the old collector Glenn Quinn used to repeat so often: "If it looks new....it probably is". I think he was right.
