Okay, so some days it's a "What to list today"...too much flint from the last forty years of 'buy-and-put-away'-- but you can't list Adena points EVERY day, right? That'd get boring (for both of us). So, I came across a small "put back" frame long- stashed, some "Hey, those are neat" Benton/ Elk River Hafted Scrapers out of Henderson County, Kentucky, pieces from Mid Archaic sites along the Ohio River. Several of the pieces show the somewhat 'unique' diagonal flaking that these Benton peoples upgraded to an art form for their hafted knives. Even reduced to "Blunts", the flaking patterns are really special workmanship. All four are made of hornstone, varying color grades (Munsell Colors)--three are direct-in-line end scrapers, the one on the left is angled, the scraping edge made on a 45o angle--2&1/16" for size reference. The wide (1&1/8") light grey piece shows a heavy heat pop out on the reverse face--that didn't stop their usage, and that scraper edge is use-dulled. The patina you (and I) demand is there, they're guaranteed real. Shipping is $8.00, checks or M.O.s are how I welcome payments. Sorry, I make NO use of paypal-type services--Roy A.
