So, exactly what did the knapper have in mind? Not exactly a drill (too wide of a blade), not exactly a dart point--Sangamon County, Burlington Chert with the characteristic red color of heat treated Burlington (and some glue/ threads where the finder displayed the point). With minimal basal edge grinding I'd place the point in the Mid-to-Late Archaic--sides of the stem are well ground, though. Length is 2&13/16" by 1&1/4", with a somewhat thick medial ridge.
