What IS the flint--I've seen a few pieces made of it before, all those dark bands in a light brown matrix, but putting a name on it??? The point is from a Jefferson--Bond County, Southern Illinois, collection. Conversation with a hunting companion of the finder gave me the creek system they walked (extensive creek, so who even knows how many sites lined both sides as it meandered)--that history goes with the 2&13/16" by 1&1/4" point. The stem edges may have been dulled (deliberately) or the wear that's felt might be from just that: wear--whiggle as the hafted knife was used so often. The patination of the chert is no-brainer, every detail is real. Shipping is $8.00 with checks or M.O.s how I receive payments. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
