A total lack of lateral edge grinding, yeah, the piece is a Sedalia, not an Agate Basin, but as close as I've ever seen a Sedalia "copy" the Late Paleo Agate Basin form. Paleos, though, they ground their edges, so the point gets classified as a "darn well made" Sedalia. The point is out of the Bond & Montgomery County, Illinois, area, Burlington Chert, a symmetrical 2&15/16" by 15/16" width--and with a max thickness of 3/8". Some Sedalias, their medial ridge was made thicker--not here, though. The edges are extra well knapped, pressure chipping, not percussion; the base, you can spot the thinning flakes that better-hafted the piece. The patination is excellent, guaranteed authentic in every detail. Shipping is $8.00 to keep shipping as reasonable as possible (minimum USPS charge these days for a small package is $8.30). I welcome checks or money orders, but do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
