This phenomenal Pre-Columbian Death Mask is made out of a rare, green, semi-translucent Jade. It's likely from the Mayan/Olmec cultures where it was believed that the transformation of the deceased into spiritual beings was facilitated by these masks, which embodied both the physical and spiritual aspects of the individual. At over 6 inches in length and over 5 inches in width, this mask is very large for its type and thin enough to easily show its translucence when backlit. It is a fantastic piece of artwork and available at a very reasonable cost.
